Tuddie Purdy was raised on the island of Moloka‘i where he cares for a macadamia nut farm on his 5-acre Hawaiian homestead. Located in the ahupua‘a of Ho‘olehua, uncle Tuddie is full of knowledge about macadamia nuts, Hawaiian culture, and life on Moloka‘i. He enjoys sharing his ‘ike with the community and visitors to his home island. Uncle Tuddie and his ‘ohana have been educating those who visit their farm since 1980. He shares his knowledge of Hawaiian history and farming macadamia nuts on homestead land. A lifetime lover of surfing, he makes sure to share with visitors that living off the land is a way of life for many on Moloka‘i. When asked if he is rich due to his business he will quickly reply, “yes, but only in the heart, I live in paradise, so I have everything I need.”
