Paniolo is a way of culture for Uncle Porky Dudoit. On Moloka‘i, rodeo starts with family and is a way the community preserves Hawaiian culture. Uncle Porky is known for coaching young aspiring paniolo. He teaches about work ethic, discipline, and how to take care of the land. Uncle Porky also learned from his family and other big time paniolo. The paniolo heritage is a way of life for Uncle Porky as he participated in Moloka‘i Stampede at Kapualei Ranch for most of his life. He was honored by Moloka‘i Ranch for his service and nominated for Paniolo Hall of Fame in 2022.
